Aims and Scope of the School:
The school will present some aspects of brain disorders due to neurotoxicants. Technical workshops will be part of the school trainings. The school will focus on communication through opportunities of intense and proactive discussions and individual presentations, and will contribute to enrichment of students' social experience.
Description:
High-level exposure to neurotoxicants, that cause alteration of brain integrity and function, is an important health problem in Africa and worldwide. The school's purpose is to address the issue of neurotoxicity due to some agents including heavy metals such as lead, methylmercury, insecticides, cuprizone and other neurotoxicant included in the diet such as cyanogens and ammonia particularly in early ages. We will address important neuropathologies including neuronopathy, axonopathy, myelinopathy, and transmission toxicity. This school will emphasize on the consequences of neurotoxicants on the morphological, molecular, physiological, and behavioral levels.
